Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, I loved this story since I first saw Timothy Dalton's portrayal of Mr Rochester (personal opinion, it's the best version).  When I finally got a round to reading the book, I was in my element, now, having read this several times, it is one of my favourites.  If you have never read this book, please do, you really will enjoy it and all its gothic notes.   In fact, I loved this book so much and Charlotte Bronte's writing and story, I named my daughter Bronte!
